Policy Statement

As a company operating from the UK, JGS Fire Safety Ltd [JGS] is legally obliged to operate in accordance with the Data Protection Act (2018) as guided by the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679).

JGS takes the privacy of client and contractor data seriously. This Privacy Statement is incorporated within and subject to business terms and conditions.

 

Data collection and security

JGS collects data which might include personal data when client representatives make enquiries or are directly engaged in fire risk assessment activities and the provision of consultancy and training. JGS commits to the lawful, fair and transparent treatment of personal data in safeguarding the successful provision of its products and services.

In part, the trust at the heart of JGS client relationships is built around ways in which client data is handled throughout project and contractual life-cycle. Data processed in this respect may include identifier information such as name and contact details of a client representative.

Under no circumstances shall personal client data be processed by JGS unless certain conditions are met. Contact details for client representatives shall not be retained for longer than is legally necessary or specified.

 

Data use

JGS maintains appropriate technical and organisational security safeguards designed to protect client data against accidental, unlawful or unauthorised destruction, alteration, access, disclosure or use. JGS uses personal data obtained from clients to:

  • manage existing client relationships.
  • communicate with clients.
  • undertake accounting, auditing, review and evaluation activities.
  • safeguard and justify operational activities.
  • comply with applicable legal requirements, industry standards and internal policies.

JGS shall not sell, trade or share personal information with Third Parties, unless it is absolutely necessary to do so.

 

Marketing permissions

JGS does not undertake marketing activities.

 

Changes and updates to this Policy Statement

It is the intention of JGS to review and update this Policy Statement from time-to-time to meet changing demands following workforce consultation or client feedback.
