The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, requires the responsible person to ensure they provide their employees with adequate safety training. This safety training should be carried out when they are first employed, thereafter periodically and when they are exposed to new or increased risk within the workplace. Persons appointed to the role of Fire Warden/Marshal should be provided with sufficient safety training to enable them to fully undertake the role and responsibilities of a Fire Warden/Marshal.

Basic Fire Safety Awareness Training

This course will provide candidates with a general understanding of basic fire awareness including what should be done in the event of a fire, how to prevent a fire occurring and a basic introduction of the protocol of extinguishing a fire.

The course has information on the following:

  • Chemistry of fire
  • Common causes of fire
  • Basic fire safety features in buildings
  • Introduction to fire extinguishers
  • What to do in case of fire

This course is only available as an in-company course, delivered at client venues at a time and date to suit you. It is recommended that employees undertake suitable safety training in line with the findings of your fire risk assessment.

 

Fire Warden/Marshal Training

In addition to the content of the ‘Basic Fire Safety Awareness Training', the Fire Warden/Marshal course will cover:

  • Fire statistics
  • Current fire safety legislation
  • Fire risk assessment
  • Preventative measures
  • Safety features within buildings

 

  

  • Role of the Fire Warden/Marshal
  • Action on discovery of a fire
  • Fire drills and evacuation
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Practical use of a fire extinguisher

This course is only available as an in-company course, delivered at client venues at a time and date to suit you. It is recommended that Fire Wardens/Marshals undertake suitable safety training every three years.

Practical fire extinguisher training

This training is provided as part of the ‘Fire Warden/Marshal Training' courses, subject to there being a suitable location to undertake this part of the course in a safe environment.

This training can be added onto a ‘Basic Fire Safety Awareness Training' course if requested. There will be an additional cost for this, which will be discussed at the time of arranging the course(s).

Note: All participants of any course will receive a certificate of attendance following completion of the full course and a fire safety booklet.
